Why music captivates:‏

There is something magical about the way music can influence one’s mood, emotions and thoughts.

Whilst listening to one’s favourite tune your heart beat can drop instantly. Music can be a drug to calm us but also a fiery substance that could negatively influence us.

I’m a massive introvert and with that comes my reliance on music to help me get through very awkward social interactions. You could say that music is my escape from reality. An escape into someone else’s imagination.

I feel as if someone is prompting me to understand their words when I put my earphones in. A world where upon I create the scenery.

Where the tree leaves are purple and the streets are gold. Where laughter is heard regularly. My world.

Music captivates me in ways that never seizes to make me smile. In ways that I am grateful for.

Let’s all take inspiration from this unlikely source!

Orange (movie) review

Orange ,which is based off a manga series by  Ichigo Takano, is an eye- catching and poignant story of high school students who are given a chance to radically change their future. I have been itching to watch the film ever since it was announced that Kento Yamazaki would play the lead. Yamazaki definitely did not disappoint – he depicted young Kakeru Naruse beautifully along side the other cast.

The plot almost follows the same underline meaning as Ao Haru ride which also depicts a teenage boy who is battered with scars from his past and needs support and care from his friends. However, this is where the similarities of the two mangas stop as they both carry different weights and emotional ties that should be experienced. Continue reading “Orange (movie) review”

3 bloggers that changed my life

In the last decade Fashion blogs have exploded, with more and more online websites set up every single day. Since the day that I came to know and love the online fashion community there are some who have and always will inspire me. From their uniqueness to their strong sense of self- these bloggers or should I say online Curators have , unknown to themselves, truly inspired me.

The following list showcases some of my favourite fashion and beauty bloggers:

Stella’s Wardrobe

One of my first ever blogs that I came across on the inter-web.Stella Kattermann, a creative and social media manager, grabs audiences with her unique and approachable style. In my opinion, she has not changed her goals or content to fit with the latest online trends through out the years. That is what I truly admire about her ; she has always put out content that I love and I believe that I will continue to love. Continue reading “3 bloggers that changed my life”

Mr Nietzsche in the convenience store (Review)

Salut mes amis !

Weeks have gone past since I have been able to sit done and indulge without feeling the guilt that comes with procrastination. However, I did manage to complete a whole drama during my procrastination sessions which ,if I may add, is very impressive.

Mr Nietzsche in the convenience store is a Japanese drama that seems to be at the top of the Must see list this Spring. To be honest, I never knew that such brilliance existed until it buzzed into all my social media platforms and ,as you do, I decided to follow the crowd. I am pleased to say that Mr Nietzsche in the convenience store was far better than I expected.

Brand Highlight: Leighton Denny

Salut mes amis !

After receiving Leighton Denny nail polishes last Christmas I  became curious about the brand and what the nail polish offers. As a nail fanatic I was delighted to hear that the brand actually care about the condition of our nails and sell many products to aid our nail needs .IMG_4430[1]

The award winning brand was founded, yes you guessed it, by Leighton Denny himself . The beauty expert  has spent most of his years in the beauty industry and knows exactly what we want . Each nail polish is roughly £11 each but believe me they are worth the price . They last pretty well on my nail polish resistant hands (about 3-4 days) but the real price is in the quality of the products . You only need one coat of the nail polish for it to be fully opaque!

I absolutely love what Leighton Denny has created and I can’t wait to see what else he has for us .

When print was in …

Salut mes amis!

Back in the day, more like 2 – 3 years ago, magazines used to rule the fashion industry with a whip .However, things have changed since then and fashion has now been taken over by the digital era.

IMG_4424[1]

Some of you will question my argument saying that Vogue magazine and Elle magazine are huge companies that still stand firm in the print industry. I shall not argue with you as you are 100 percent right . Despite this , Vogue publishes online almost every minute of the day (I’ll have to admit that I am exaggerating just slightly).

IMG_4426[1]

Even the novel industry has been taken over by technology with websites such as wattpad ,which I love, publishing innovative new stories online . Audio books make our lives much easier and our brains a lot less used as we can choose to sit around being read to .

I largely miss those days of visiting the stores in search of the latest Company magazine issue and analysing each article in the magazine in search for inspiration. There is something mesmerising about picking up something physical – feeling it- analysing it .

IMG_4428[1].JPG

Moreover, I do not dispute that digital prints and magazines have many benefits but I will forever be adamant that print will always give a more unique experience than digital but a very isolating one I would like to add. As our society becomes more dependent on technology I hope that we do not forget the feelings and emotions that come about when holding and analysing a book / magazine.

Thank you for reading.

The benefits of Argan Oil

Salut mes amis !

Weeks have turned into months and months have turned into years since I have spoken to you about my skin journey and what I have been doing to get rid of my teenage prone acne skin .

Last time we discussed the wonderful effects of wearing sun protection daily as the sun does have a reputation of deepening acne scars . However , due to the high doses of Melanin in my skin I realised that I need as much of the sun as possible. Nevertheless ,I am still in the habit of obsessing over sun  cream and its benefits !

If the sun cream trick didn’t work , then what did ? You may ask yourself. The answer is simply : Argan oil . Yes, I repeat Argan oil. Most of you have probably heard ‘Argan oil’ referenced in many hair posts ,which rave about the wonderful effect it has on dry hair, but didn’t know that it does wonders at transforming acne prone skin as well .

IMG_4417[2].JPG

I have been applying the miracle oil all over my face once a day after cleansing and I have seen marvellous results . The argon oil fills your face with moisture after cleansing it with harsh chemicals . I find that it protects my face during the day without soaking my face with too much moisture that in turn could cause more breakouts .

Here are just a few benefits of the miracle oil

  • Soothes skin
  • Promotes healing
  • Provides natural moisture
  • Contains anti-oxidants which help to heal damaged skin cells
  • Reduces Inflammation
  • High in Vitamin E and fatty acid content

Thank you for reading 🙂
