Film review: Radiance

This film review is well overdue as since encountering Radiance early this year I have watched it over 5 times including the times that I have just listened to the audio as I fell asleep. That is how much impact this film made in my life the first time I watched it and I feel that it deserves even more recognition than it did when it was first released.

The benefits of Argan Oil

Salut mes amis !

Weeks have turned into months and months have turned into years since I have spoken to you about my skin journey and what I have been doing to get rid of my teenage prone acne skin .

Last time we discussed the wonderful effects of wearing sun protection daily as the sun does have a reputation of deepening acne scars . However , due to the high doses of Melanin in my skin I realised that I need as much of the sun as possible. Nevertheless ,I am still in the habit of obsessing over sun  cream and its benefits !

If the sun cream trick didn’t work , then what did ? You may ask yourself. The answer is simply : Argan oil . Yes, I repeat Argan oil. Most of you have probably heard ‘Argan oil’ referenced in many hair posts ,which rave about the wonderful effect it has on dry hair, but didn’t know that it does wonders at transforming acne prone skin as well .

I have been applying the miracle oil all over my face once a day after cleansing and I have seen marvellous results . The argon oil fills your face with moisture after cleansing it with harsh chemicals . I find that it protects my face during the day without soaking my face with too much moisture that in turn could cause more breakouts .

Here are just a few benefits of the miracle oil

  • Soothes skin
  • Promotes healing
  • Provides natural moisture
  • Contains anti-oxidants which help to heal damaged skin cells
  • Reduces Inflammation
  • High in Vitamin E and fatty acid content

I Just Wanna Hug You Review

Happy New Year mes amis!

Long time no blog! Haha – I’m sorry about my attempt at being funny . Well it wasn’t that bad ,was it? Anyway It’s a new year which means a new phase of dedication to you wonderful people who actually spend time reading my/our content. *Yay*

This blog post is long overdue -very ,very overdue may I add. I just Wanna Hug you or Dakishimetai – Shinjitsu No Monogatari is a Japanese film that came out on the 1st of  February  2014 which was 2 years ago (gasp!) . Since the day that I saw I just Wanna Hug you it seems as if I just can’t forget it . It’s one of those films that stay in your heart forever. I am not really one to cry over a film as I usually don’t get attached to characters that I have only seen for 107 minutes or for however long the film is. Despite this , I just Wanna Hug you fully attacked my heart to the point that I was bent over my laptop screaming to the heavens “Why!” . The fact that the story is in fact true did not help my broken heart and my damp face .

I heart Makeup ! Review

Salut mes amis !

I was meant to write this post almost 100 years ago (cue exaggeration) but I haven’t been able to get around to it . Except for now . While I was in Spain I picked up the I Heart Eye Shadow Palette “I Heart Passion”, I absolutely adore the palette and I wanted to share with you my overall thoughts on the product .

Thoughts: ” Compared to other palettes I have , the shades aren’t as pigmented as  I would like but for the price the colours do stand out . I believe that it is all in how you apply it !” – Instagram  (@xlola15x)

Makeup Revolution – Ultra Blush Palette review

Salut mes amis !

I have been wanting to do this post for such a long time, Makeup revolution is such a good brand with great products . I picked up one of the many Ultra blush palettes from Makeup revolution in “All about cream” a few months ago . To be honest I wasn’t really expecting the consistency of the product ; the blushes are not as creamy as expected and the colours are much lighter than in the photos online .Nevertheless I do love the palette and the variety of creamy colours at my door step. I also love that I can use the blushes to mix up new lip shades (which I do often ) ; I am recently liking the orange toned shade !

Tip: For darker skin tones the two far left shades (top and bottom )are the best for that easy every day glow !

Price: £6.00 Makeup revolution

French Speaking Artists You Should Listen To !

Salut mes amis !

I do not count my self as being an expect on everything and anything about the French language and it’s music . However I am an avid listener of said music and would like to share with you my current French playlist . These songs can be enjoyed by those who love the language ; those who are trying to learn the language and those who just like the sound of it . Let’s begin :

About: Paul Van Haver, better known by his stage name Stromae, is a Belgian singer, rapper and songwriter. He is originally from Laeken, in Brussels. He has established himself in both the hip hop and electronic music genres.

Evidently ,  Stromae (a Belgian born Dance/house artist) has a very special place in my heart for many reason that are not going to be mentioned here . Anyway , if you enjoy lively music with messages that would get you pondering about life then check him out .

2. Zaz

About : Isabelle Geffroy, better known by the nickname Zaz, is a French singer-songwriter who mixes jazzy styles, French variety, soul and acoustic. She is famous for her hit “Je veux”, from her first album, Zaz, released on 10 May 2010

Her voice is so soothing and the themes in her songs do get the heart and the mind screaming for more .

3. France Gall

About: France Gall is a popular French yé-yé singer. Gall was married to, and had a successful singing career in partnership with, the late French singer-songwriter Michel Hamburger, whose stage name was Michel Berger

An old favourite of mine but a love nonetheless.

4. Emmanuelle Seigner

About: Emmanuelle Seigner is a French actress, former fashion model, and singer. She is known for her roles in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Ninth Gate and Frantic.

<<I can’t get enough of this song ! >>

Barry M Genie Lip Paint review

Salut mes amis !

Barry M is indeed popular for it’s nail polishes but I think that the brand needs a massive round of applause for their Genie lip paint ! The lipstick ‘magically’ turns to a unique shade of pink for each and every person and I was surprised to actually Love the product .

“It’s green but magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink. It does this by adapting to the Alkaline in your lips. In other words, every person is different and every look is unique!
Genie lasts for eight hours too so you can achieve an all-day custom kiss that’s all your own (Genie is an improved formulation of Barry M’s popular ‘Touch of Magic’ lip paint.) “- Barry M

Price: Barry M website – £4.49 – Superdrug

Colour:  The lipstick turned out to be a delicate shade that almost touched the  red spectrum on me . However , the colour almost looked identical on my sister so I wouldn’t call it an ‘unique’ colour for every individual .

Last: This lipstick LASTS ALL DAY  ! Maybe just on me but I found that the lipstick stained my lips and no matter how hard I tried to get it off : it stayed .

Recommend: Absolutely ! This has become my go to lipstick for when I need a pop of colour .

How I wear: I dab the lipstick on both my upper and lower lips (after moisturised with lip balm !) and smooth out with my index finger for an every day stain .

Thank you for reading 🙂 Why not try Barry M Genie Lip paint for yourself !
