This film review is well overdue as since encountering Radiance early this year I have watched it over 5 times including the times that I have just listened to the audio as I fell asleep. That is how much impact this film made in my life the first time I watched it and I feel that it deserves even more recognition than it did when it was first released.
Salut mes amis!
This week has been a very productive one. Productive in the way that I got to watch 4 amazing shows that I think have changed my life .
First up is the acclaimed Cheese in the trap…
Salut mes amis !
As you should already know I’m a little Drama obsessed (and by a little I mean a lot ). I have been willing to do this post for a long time but as a common case of procrastination I have left it until now . You taught me all the precious things is a Japanese drama that at first I wasn’t really sure about ;mostly because I was confused about what actually happened between Shoji (played by the handsome Haruma Miura) and Hikari ( played by Emi Takei) . Nevertheless I rather enjoyed the plot twist that I actually wasn’t expecting and no one can deny how adorable Shuji’s and Natsumi’s relationship is . I was mostly disappointed when Natsumi called it quits as it was totally uncalled for ; seriously who would beak up with a guy with a face like this :
Sorry about that back to the review –
Plot “Shuji is a young teacher whose confidence and honesty has made him popular with the students. He is engaged to Natsumi, also a teacher at the same high school. At the morning of the new semester, Shuji wakes up with a hangover and no memory of the night before, and a strange young woman in his bed. He feels terrible about possibility of having cheated on his fiancée, but when it turns out the girl is a student in his class Shuji is wrecked with guilt. Things go from bad to worse when the girl, Hikari, makes it clear that she’s in love with him and wants to break him and Natsumi apart. Shuji’s honest nature makes him want to come clean to everyone about what has happened, but before he has the chance, the secret is out. As his life starts crumbling around him, Shuji still decides to try and save Hikari from herself.” – IMDb
Genre Romance, School

Salut mes amis !
Love in Tokyo. My love. The people that I have told about this great drama have either loved it or loved it. I’ll tell you the truth , Love in Tokyo is not for everyone but for those who like the cheesiest of the cheese and the ridiculous of the ridiculous; then this Drama is for you . I’m not going to try to explain the plot as from the other review we all know that my explanations are not that great . Any-who , here is a brief summary of the brilliance that is … Love in Tokyo :
“When it comes to academics, Kotoko isn’t very bright, but she falls in love at first sight with the handsome, intelligent Naoki at their high school entrance ceremony. As a third-year student, she writes him a love letter, works up the courage to give it to him… and is flat-out rejected by Naoki. But then one day, Kotoko’s newly-constructed house is destroyed by a falling meteor. During the period of reconstruction, she and her father are invited to stay with one of his old friends. However, as it turns out, that old friend is one Mr. Irie, father of Naoki. Despite living together, Naoki is as disdainful as ever. But Kotoko presses on with the battle to win him over. Amid twists and turns in the tale, the day that Kotoko has wished for finally comes to pass!” – dramafever
Genre Romantic Comedy , Comedy , Japanese drama
Yeah , I know what you are thinking : What a typical Japanese drama but no, no no. Love in Tokyo is distinctive as it is a seriously funny comedy . Bare in mind it’s funny in the ” I can’t believe how ridiculous that is “, however it does work. Like I said to my friends as I tried to persuade them to watch Love in Tokyo ; It’s so bad that it’s so good . I really mean that in a positive way and I cannot wait for season 2 to be available in the UK ! Seriously , I check Crunchyroll everyday .
Emotions If you are not convinced yet , think about the affect it has had on me . I’M ADDICTED . There are some really beautiful and cute scenes in the Drama that made my heart melt with joy and adoration. I cried many times and I rather enjoyed it .
^^^^ Seriously look at how cute this scene is , a little bit creepy but cute . If you have watched Love in Tokyo you would know what I mean . Comment bellow some of your favourite scenes 🙂 .
Thank you for reading and I hope that you venture into the world of Love in Tokyo !
P.S In the comments tell me one drama/anime that I should watch !
Salut mes amis!
I am dreading writing this post but I know that I have to for all those Anime obsessed beautiful people out there . Ever since I was young I have always loved animation , very evident in my favourite movies including Happy feet and Tinker Bell . Then I was introduced to anime. First it was Mumu power, I don’t now if you can count that as an anime but…, then Kaichou Wa Maid Sama . After that I was carried away with the Tidal wave of Clannad lovers (The tide was made from their tears). Next I stopped off at Sword Art Online 1 ; waiting a year (and a bit) I ventured on Sword Art Online 2 or Gun Gale Online and many more . All I am trying to say is that Anime is one of my dear loves and this blog wouldn’t be me without a discussion on this topic. Let the Debate be forever in your favour !
Sword Art Online 1 Stars (out of 5) : 5.0001
“On November 6, 2022, the players log into SAO for the first time, and later discover that they are unable to log out. They are then informed by Akihiko Kayaba, SAO’s creator, that if they wish to be free, they must reach the 100th floor of the game’s tower and defeat the final boss. However, if their avatars die in-game, their bodies will also die in the real world. One of these players is Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya, who was chosen as one of the 1,000 beta testers in the closed beta. Since he had previous experience and knowledge of the game, he felt that he could beat the game easily. As a result, he set out to beat the game on his own. As the game progresses for two years, Kirito eventually befriends a female player named Asuna with whom he ultimately falls in love. After the duo discover the identity of Kayaba’s avatar in SAO, they confront and destroy him, freeing themselves and the other players from the game.” – Wiki
The sudden thought of Sword Art Online (SAO) 1 has me reminiscing on those long nights I spent tirelessly trying the finish the season. The tears that flooded my laptop as I saw my sister’s questioning expression. I have to admit that I am a very emotional person and the slightest things will get my tear docks rolling( for example I cried in all The Hobbit films + The theory of Everything). However, all my friends have said that their hearts were torn apart and glue gunned back together while watching SAO . There is no doubt that SAO is a heart throbbing watch, and don’t be fooled that it is only about gaming ,which first put me off, SAO is a mix of genres and themes. Romance, Comedy, Action, Gaming, Harems . Yep I said that word. And if I haven’t convinced you maybe this will, the main character is low key my BAE . After you have watched it you will understand .
Sword Art Online 2 (Gun Gale Online) Stars: 4.4446
“Soon after, Kirito plays another game called Gun Gale Online (GGO) to investigate the mysterious connection between it and deaths occurring in the real world. Assisted by a female player he meets in the game called Sinon, he identifies and exposes the culprits, who include some former members of a murderous guild he previously encountered in SAO” – Wiki
The awaited second season of SAO came out . I have to say this, I was a little disappointed by the content of the second season. However, by the end the floods from my eyes were released . I loved how we got to know Asuna a bit more but I hated how Kirito flirted senselessly and kept introducing his girlfriend as his “friend ” – That’s a way to piss off a girl isn’t it. Either way the highlight of the season was hands down the battle between Kirito and you know who (if you don’t then you should go and watch it). The little #flashback shots that were slotted in the fight was beyond perfect as it got the watchers of the first season in tears before the next episode. It is similar to that connected we have with a certain song that is played at an event that brings back a familiar emotion . The whole Fairy World game thing is really not me but I have grown to love every single character, new and old .
Overall SAO is a must watch , it is not everyone’s cup of brandy but it’s free to check out !
What is your opinion on SAO , is it worth watching?
